If you have traveled with us before you already know and love our Trip Plans app.  Our clients have access to their complete, detailed itinerary right from their phones while they are on their trip. All travelers on the trip can download the app – never again answer the question “what are we doing next?” Your flights will have live updates and you can view your itinerary offline if needed.

If you are an OCD packer this app is for you!  Build a customized packing list based on activities you’ll be doing on your trip such as hiking, swimming, working, traveling with a baby, etc. PackPoint even checks the weather during your travel days. You can share your packing list with fellow travelers so they know what to pack too. Never forget ________ again!

This currency conversion app is great because it works offline.  It updates regularly when you have wifi or data but can be used offline when you are away from wifi if necessary.  Very simple to use and works with over 150 different currencies. Whenever you want to check how much you’ll be paying for something, simply plug in the price and up will pop the price in your home currency. This is a great way to make sure you’re not overspending. Converter + is another great option if you want to convert other things in addition to currency such as speed (kph to mph), temperature (C to F), etc.

We don’t leave home without this mapping app.  Of course it will get you from point A to point B with the quickest route but we also love the public transportation and walking routes when we are traveling. Maps can also be accessed offline if you don’t have wifi or cell service.

While many cell phone carriers offer decent international plans, WhatsApp is a great free tool for those who want to stay connected without the cost of international calling and texting. Through WhatsApp, you can make voice calls, send text messages, send photos/videos, and even video call! Even if you purchase an international plan through your wireless carrier, it’s still a good idea to download WhatsApp just in case.

Easily translate over 100 languages instantly by typing.  If spelling gets tough the text-to-speech feature is super convenient.  The camera feature lets you just point your camera at a sign for instant translation.

Of course everyone is familiar with Uber but did you know that Uber is now in over 60 countries and 400 cities? While it’s not guaranteed that Uber serves in your destination, there is a darn good chance that it does. Be sure to keep this app handy – you never know when you’ll need a ride, and getting a cab may not be as easy as you think. And, in some cases (especially if you’re traveling with a large group), taking an Uber is less expensive than a taxi or even public transportation!

View, book and access airport lounges in over 800 airports around the world to make the most of your airport experience.  Build your profile and the app will tell you which lounges you may have access to for free or for a one time fee.

Mobile Passport enables US citizens to save time during the entry process at 27 major US airports and cruise ports.  Securely submit your passport and customs declaration form and access designated express lanes in the inspection area. We swear by this when returning to our home airport of IAH!

Last, but not least, be sure to download your airline app for easy check-in, flight updates, etc.

Hopefully some of these will make your next adventure a little more seamless- happy travels!
