Eight Packing Tips We Swear By

Over the years we’ve tried countless travel accessories – packing cubes, bizarre travel pillows, compression socks, novel suitcases, you name it. To save you some time and cash, we’ve made helpful guide of our favorite travel accessories and packing tips. Happy traveling!

  • Invest in a backpack if you travel a lot. Having your hands free at the airport, rather than attempting to juggle various items is game-changing.  Backpacks offer the functionality of holding snacks, entertainment, electronics, souvenirs and anything else you can’t quite squeeze into your suitcase. We also recommend using a travel wallet that keeps your ID, Passport, and money safe and organized within your backpack.
  • Find an amazing walking shoe that can double as a great plane shoe to cut down on the number of shoes you need to pack. Shoes can take up tons of space in a suitcase or backpack – limiting the number of shoes you bring will open up space to bring other items or shop during your travels.

  • Travel with a good-quality water bottle. Arrive at the airport with the water bottle empty and fill it up after you go through security. It will help you save a buck and stay hydrated on your flight and during your travels. One of our favorite water bottles is the Brita Premium Filtering Water Bottle – it’s perfect for both traveling abroad and locally.

We love packing cubes! Whether you’re packing for a long weekend or a two-week trip they will keep your suitcase tidy and organized. Packing cubes keep everything compact, so you can maximize your suitcase space and you’ll never have to dig around to find that missing sock again.

    • Pro Tip: Designate one of your packing cubes for dirty laundry so you can keep your already-worn clothes both organized and out of the way.
  • Invest in one or two bags or purses you know you will love to have on your body while exploring new places, so you never have to worry about what to pack. Having a small bag or purse to carry your phone and wallet in while exploring is a must. Some even come with interchangeable straps for a fun fashion change-up!
  • Always pack a portable charger and every charging cord you’ll need with it. You may even want to invest in a small case to keep all your charging accessories in one place. Charging areas at airports are always a hotspot for travelers, so there isn’t always a charging port available. Bringing your own portable charger ensures that you’ll have the opportunity to charge you devices at any time or place.
  • Toiletry bags are essential! Always keep your liquids in the same toiletry bag for efficiency and ease at TSA. Having all your toiletry items stored away in one place will also help you maximize space in your suitcase. Some packing cubes even come with a designated toiletry cube!
  • Our most important tip for traveling now is to pack lighter and bring a carry-on suitcase rather than check a bag. Using a carry-on eliminates the risk of having a bag go missing enroute, getting delayed or lost. It also means you’ll never have to wait in the chaos of the baggage carousel, and you’ll have less to lug around in airports and through city streets.
